Strategy
Alois,
First, I would like to thank you for all your advices in the past. I'm improved tremendously. I've another pressing question for you. Recently, I switch from LP Ox with SP Ox to LP Ox with smooth/inverted .05mm. Both I used combination blade. My question to you is, do you advice me to twiddle?
Thank you,
Rodrigo
Hi Rodrigo,
It would be a step up if you are able to twiddle. It adds another dimension to your game and will make it much more difficult for your opponent.
In this video, we share 2 essential tips that can instantly improve your doubles play whether you're just starting out or already competing in matches.
🏓 Tip 1: Learn why playing more shots down the line helps your partner stay in position and how a well-timed cross-court attack can still surprise your opponents.
🏓 Tip 2: Discover the power of serving short and close to the centre line to reduce your opponents’ attacking options and give your team the advantage.
These small adjustments can make a big difference in your coordination, positioning, and success as a doubles pair.

Alois,
Thank you for your advice. I practiced twiddling this morning and is not easy. I've to practice more before I play round robin with my club.

Hi, sorry but what does twiddling mean? Im form Finland i dont know the word.
Timo
Twiddling is turning the bat in your hand to switch the side of the racket that you are using.

Ok. Thank you. Sounds difficult
There will be a video on this question coming out soon.
I used to do this a lot when I used Anti Power. I started before the laws compelled you to have red and black rubbers. What I found early on, was that you could confuse yourself at times and use the wrong side of the bat. It's a little easier now with different colours, but can still happen. I sanded a little groove where my middle finger rested on the bat to help solve that problem to some degree.

When using LP, do people usually just use that with the backhand then? I guess most people don't use LP as their primary forehand?
Not many people use their pimples on the Forehand. It can be an interesting and effective variation though.

Hi Alois, thanks for this I have always only twiddled when using certain serves but its good to know it can be done for ordinary play, it adds yet another layer to the game and although I think that's too advanced for me currently, it is something I can watch out for if I ever actually take the time to watch others play. What's the difference between long pimples and medium ones which I have on my back hand? Thanks

Thank you for this. Now I know that this is possible and effective when done correctly.
