Strokes
I am Intermediate Table Tennis Player ...At back of bat everyone usually puts 1finger but i hold the bat with 2 fingers at the back of the bat..is it illegal or would they allow this style of holding bat in tournaments
Hi Bhuvaneswar,
There are no rules about holding the bat so you are allowed to hold it with two fingers on the back. The main reason players don't use two fingers is that it restricts the movement of the wrist.
When you need to reach that really wide ball the regular shuffle step just won't get you there in time so you need to use the crossover step. This is essentially a running action to get you to the ball as fast as possible.
