Using chop against sidespin or topspin serve

Hi Alois, just wanted to know if the backhand chop can be used to return a heavily loaded sidespin or topspin serve. I try doing that but the ball flies around.  Please help

Hi Sujeet,

Yes you can use the chop.  It is a matter of hitting the ball quite firmly to get your own spin happening on the ball.  I you psh softly at the ball the spin that is on the serve will take the ball where your opponent wants it to go.
