Receiving
Hi coaches. I have just played with the top player of my schools. He serves awesomely. I can't figure out how to pick it up. Well it the ball always travels in a straight path but when i touch the ball it flies away from the table. So i would be very glad to learn how to counter it??!!!
Hi Harsh,
Even though the ball is travelling in a straight path it is still spinning a lot.
You have to watch the contact he is making on the serve and see which direction he is spinning the ball.
To counter the spin you need to use the angle of your racket. If the ball wants to spin to the right then yo need to angle your bat to the left and vice versa. This is covered comprehensively in our Premium lessons on Receiving Secrets.
