VOCs and frictionless pimples in English leagues

Rules

Hi Alois

I ve noticed that VOCs and frictionless pimples are noted as illegal on the ittf rules, but not on the etta. My league is an etta competition, so do ittf rules still apply. I noticed an opponent was using spinmax.

Thanks, Sam

Hi Sam,

The ETTA would have somewhere in their rules that they abide by the ITTF rules as well so VOC's and frictionless pimples should be banned.  The problem always arises with policing of these rules at all levels.  For example, there are very few testing devices for VOC's and especially at club level it is never going to be picked up.

I am not sure about Spinmax though.
