Serving
So I was wondering about Wang Hao's serve in several ways. First of all I was wondering what kind of serve is it? It seems like a pendulum serve but I'm not sure. He doesn't seem to go from the right to left but more from back to front. I was also wondering how effective this is. And lastly I was wondering how well this serve will work on the shakehand grip. The serve I am referring to is in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp8Ya8hauZo
Hi Dhruv,
This is more like the Punch serve. Take a look at this previous question we have had about this type of serve.

- Wide Serves: Understand the tactical advantage of serving wide and how it can open up the table for your next shot.
- Targeting Weaknesses: Tips on identifying and exploiting your opponent's weaker side with precision serves.
- Varying Your Serve Position: The benefits of serving from different positions and how it can confuse and unbalance your opponent.
- The Crossover Point: How to target the elusive crossover point (the transition between forehand and backhand) to force errors or weak returns.

Thanks Alois, but the Par Gerrell serve again seems to go from behind his body forward, as if from left to right but wang hao doesn't seem to move his serve horizontally
You are right, it is not as big an action as Par Gerell but the same idea and similar spin.
