Training
Hi Alois,
Is there any way I can improve my game if all the people I have in my club are either skilled but not serious at all while playing or beginners but serious in their game and wants to improve.
I am stuck among them and I am a intermediate level player, so playing with those beginners is really boring. I do not improve much, they like that I am playing with them helping them improve though, but anyways...
And the other set of players, they play well at times when they feel like it, but most of the time they are just goofing around and cracking jokes and frustrating... :(
Joining some other club is difficult since the next nearest club will take at least 2 hrs of journey to reach which will make me tired when I reach home, thus negatively affecting studies.
You have made a video which talks about training alone without a table, my condition is a little better, so what will be the best thing to do in this situation if I want to improve.
Thanks for all of your support, I really love your videos and answers.
Cheers, Chandrachur.
Hi Chandrachur,
I think you need to find ways to utilise your time with the lower level players. You can get them to place the ball for you with some basic blocking. You can decrease the options for them such as hitting to one position so that they can control the ball better for you. Get them to place the ball to more positions for you so that it is like levelling the playing field.
There is always something that you can work on with whoever you play with.
In this training session you'll develop your control over the ball using some off table exercises, then progress through to performing a consistency challenge to see how many balls you can hit on in a row.
