Hi

I wanted to know if I need any warm up exercises or jogging or something like that. I am not able to attack my first 3 to 4 points. Should I also warm up with some rallies?

Thanks mate!

Hi Pranav,

Yes you proabbly do need to do some warm ups.  I always think that I need to be ready to play th efirst point like it is the last and most important point of the match.  So you should have a good hit up and also play quite a few point and even practice games before you start.  It is difficult to go into the first point and serve well if it is the firts serve you have done for the day or for a while.

Lobbing Tactics

If you get pushed back from the table don't just give up the point. Try and and get back into the rally. By lobbing the ball high and deep you give yourself time to get into position. If you can then get some topspin on the ball to force the smasher further away from the table then you are likely to get a weaker smash and then you can take your chance and try to counter attack!
