I have seen many readers mentioning their table tennis level.
What is that and how can I know mine.
Hi Preestish,
This is a difficult question because everyone has their own perception of levels.
Some countries like the U.S. have a reasonable rating system that will give you a rating once you play in appropriate tournaments.
If you start to play in a club or in tournaments you will gain a better feel for where you are.

When i researched it i could only find three levels, beginner, intermediate, and advanced, but even with the descriptions i can't tell if i'm beginner or intermediate. Is there a better level system, and how would you describe my level if i say i'm comfortable with spin but am not a master using it, i can keep a good rally going fast paced low over the net and can sometimes do a good smash, however my level of play is not always consistently good, and i play worse when i'm anxious, i find it hard to adjust to playing people with different styles to what i am used to, but can play with any sort of bat. what sort of level is that? I have never had coaching, but have been playing for four years at home now and then and can control the ball. what is the US reasonable rating system?
Hi Elanor,
I wouldn't worry too much about what level you are. It's more important that you enjoy playing and that you are improving if that's a goal of yours. A great way to get an indication of your level is by visiting a table tennis club. If people haven't gone to a club before it can be a bit daunting and you'll be amazed by the different levels of players you find.
The US rating system is a system where you get rated based on your performances in competition against other players.
