Hi Aloy,

I've never used Yasaka Zap so I can't comment on this rubber. If any of our readers have tried it would you please let us know your thoughts.

There are so many good rubbers out there it is impossible to keep up with them all. To keep things simple we have a few rubbers which we have tried and know are excellent. They are:

Yasaka Mark V - Excellent rubber with good control and spin

Yasaka Pryde - faster than Mark V with a little less control

Xiom Vega Pro - very fast rubber, ideal for players who have developed good control

There are plenty of other good rubbers. Choose one and then stick with it for a while so you can concentrate on improving your technique. If you keep changing your rubber then you won't know when you make a mistake if it is because you are not used to the rubber or if there is a problem with your technique. As they say, Tone is in your fingers.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
