Hi PingSkills as in Table Tennis it's important to attack and make point then, when is the time to defend? As i think sometimes it must be usefull as that's the reason why practice defending please for the answer thank you very much

If your opponent is better at you at attacking first then you will need to defend well. Also if they are erratic with their attacking then it may be good to allow them to attack sometimes and work on controlling the ball.
When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.
