Equipment
I have purchased a new bat. There are 2 sides of the bat.Red side and the Black side. Which side for forehand and which side for backhand. Please answer.
Hi Siddharth,
The colour of the rubber doesn't make a difference to its performance.
Question actions
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

Siddarth, it is almost 100% certain that a pre-made bat will play exactly the same on both sides with the only difference being the colour. Also, the rules allow you to choose which colour rubber you use on your forehand and backhand. In fact, you can even twiddle the bat (change the side of the bat) during play.

To contradict,I have seen a post from Chinese coach EmRatThich, who says red and black rubber can be different as red and black dye change the properties slightly.

True, but that's very slightly DK. Certainly not sufficiently to notice on a pre-made bat.
Even on better quality rubber I don't there is a significant difference in the rubber generated by the dye.

I know ROhan.
He was talking mostly about high level rubbers.
He only said that red rubbers are slightly softer and less tensed than black.
As you say,the difference is very slight, but for Chinese it seemingly matters.
(Well, for me as well. But I use longpips :D)
