Hi coach, i see some players in my local club wiggle shot- the ball drop down from the table and very high ball come from their bat, and when it lands on the table the ball goes to a different direction. I saw a lot of tutorials on youtube, and when i tried to execute this shot the ball was bit spin to the side that i spin, which destroy the surprise effect.

do you have any tips?

Hi Omer,

The main thing in executing the wobbly or Wiggly shot is the deception of the action.

Start below the table so that your opponent can't see when you are making the contact.  Then you need to wave your bat and arm around a lot so that they are not sure which direction your hand was moving when you made contact.  Be sure to finish with a few flourishes as well so that it adds to the illusion.

We do have a tutorial on returning this type of shot. Returning the Wobbly Shot.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
