hi Alois,

i have been following your lessons and am really improving.  Now over the weekend i just saw a player looping with the wrist.  What kind of training do i need to do to mine to able to use it in looping, serving etc in short be able to apply it in game situation?

Hi Julius,

You need to keep your hand relaxed to allow it to move quickly.

With the loop you can keep your wrist relaxed and allow it to come through with your arm.   Don't try to just use your wrist as this will become too risky.

I dont understand what you mean by relaxed wrist.

By relaxed I mean that you are not using the muscles around your wrist.  

First tighten your wrist so that you can't move it.  Like you are gripping onto something really heavy that you can't let go.  Then let it go.  Feel the difference between the two.  When playing you should have your bat only just gripped in your hand.  Take a look at our lesson on Get a Grip to see what I mean by just griped.

This will help you to relax your wrist.
