Strategy

The last few months I keep improving. Unfortunately, not working yet on my scores because I regularly lose 5 Set games. My margin in 5 sets is only at 20%. I only won 2 from 10 of these games. But from sets which go into overtime, I won 60%. What can I do, in addition to improve my quota of 5 set games?

Hi Manfred,

I think the best solution is to win in 3 or 4 games...

However in the 5th set you need to think about whether you should change something or stay with the tactics that have been working for you.  This will change for each match that you play. It is a matter of reading the situation.

Tension is something that may come into calculations.  If you feel like you are tightening up in the 5th game, take a deep breath and then set your mind back to the tactics that you need to employ to win the next point.
