Hi Anegondi,

The brushing action is when you just skim over the ball with your bat.  If yo imagine a wheel and you are trying to turn the wheel by hitting it lightly with your bat, this is a brushing action.

The best way to improve forehand topspin against backspin is to get someone to feed you with multiball a lot of backspin balls.  Get a bag of balls, about 30 to 50 and get your training partner to stand and just feed them to you one at a time over the net with some backspin. When you have made that stroke with topspin he will feed the next one. This will give you a lot of practice against this type of ball.

Make sure your stroke is correct.  Watch the lesson on Forehand Loop Off Backspin to get the basics correct.
