Hi Alois

I hope you can find time to add some more information to your coaching lessons. Specifically I think it would be a good idea to include when a particular shot is best used and why, eg: one wouldn't normally use 'counterhit' against 'backspin'. It took me a long time to spot the differences in 'Forehand Counterhit' and 'Forehand Topspin'. The word 'counterhit' is liberally used on many websites as 'smash' hence some terminology clarification is handy.

Regarding 'Forehand Topspin' the link points to 'Forehand Topsin Against Block - Table Tennis Video Lesson' (but is not available on your site) so I wonder if that is the only or the best time to use 'Forehand Topspin'.

I feel that I can master most basic shots, but I make poor shot selection during games as I think I lack what I call 'the science of the game'.

Cheers

Jon

Hi Jon,

Good to hear from you.

This is a complicate area.  We may try to do something basic on that idea of when to play which shot.  Thanks for the idea.

The 'Forehand Topspin Against Block' is the 'Forehand Topspin' Lesson in the Silver Lessons.  The topspin is used commonly against block.  The words were just to differentiate it from the lesson on Topsin against backspin.  We have used different terminology.  Something to fix.  Thanks.
