Training
Hi Alois,
This time i have a peculiar question i think
When ever i practice by banging the ball to the walls .. i play very fast and all the shots such as forehand topspin and backhand topspin come exactly as shown in your videos..
But when i start playing on the table the forehand topspin spins well but often doesn't fall on the table but fall out of the table...
and with the backhand topspin the ball fall on the table exactly i want but doesn't spin at all...
while using them against the wall it comes exactly perfect spin and timing ...
so why is this happening...
I have already become the champ of tt in my school and as well as selected to represent my school in inter school olympics competiton ...
so i want to win a gold.....
regards
hoping for a reply
Hi Sai,
When someone is hitting to you the ball is coming a little differently in flight and spin.
It is a matter of adjusting your stroke to allow for this. Watch the ball in flight and then execute the correct stroke that you have been learning. There ay be subtle differences in the angle of your bat but you will adjust this naturally if you are watching the ball carefully.
Well done on your improvement and I hope you do well and learn lot at your inter school competition.
We've all watched the movies where the underdog gets all pumped up and goes out and plays the match of their life to win the World Championships. It's inspiring stuff but in reality not everyone plays there best Table Tennis when they are too fired up. Sometime it's better to stay relaxed and calm yet very alert. This master class talks about how to find the right activation level for you so you play your best Table Tennis.
