Strokes
Hi guys!, I just readed a video answer about no spin loop and I thought... sometimes i don't know whether i should do a spinny topspin or a very fast topspin, and this is my question...
What's the difference between changing the angle of the topspin stroke (more vertical or more horizontal) or changing the angle of the bat?
I think that about the angle of the stroke... more vertical means more spin and less speed, and more horizontal means less spin and more speed.
But what about bat angle? Could I do a fast spinny topspin putting my bat very horizontal and making the stroke very horizontal too? Or I should close a bit the bat to get the speed?
Thanks again!
Hi Francisco,
The two factor shave to be taken together. The more brushing contact you get the more spin you will get.
You can brush over the top of the ball with a horizontal stroke as well but you need a lot of racket speed. A grippy surface on your rubber will help this as well.
You can also brush up on the ball vertically and this will be a slower spinny topspin.
Curve the ball past your opponent with the sidespin forehand topspin. The sidespin not only causes the ball to curve but also makes it very difficult to return.
