Service Return

Hi,

I mostly follow the Chinese training and particularly of Zhang Jike's.

But till now I am not able to understand one thing that I have saw in so many videos.

How does Zhang Jike knows where the serve will be coming? Because sometimes he goes to his forehand corner to flick the ball while recieving and it requires very accurate decision.

I am missing this ability in my game.

I know this requires a lot of practice but what are the basic things I need to know or see to get where my opponent will serve the ball?

Hi Abhinav,

The top players are watching and seeing subtle changes in the backswing of the serve to help them to move into position.

They are also able to change direction very quickly during that motion if they need to.  This comes from excellent balance and strong movement.
