Hi coach,

Recently I am training my friend for the upcoming Inter University tournament (AFTER A MONTH) Although he's improving a lot during training sessions(I have been training him counterhit, push and block with variations)  is not able to apply skills DURING MATCH. Sir how can I improve him match skills, his understanding of table tennis match?

Hi Haris,

Start to combine skills during training.  Combinations of shot and also more random placement from you will help him to start to track the ball and react to the ball coming in different positions.

Good luck with the Inter University tournament.

#12 - Defensive Technique

Although attacking is the most popular style at the top level in Table Tennis, it is important to be able to defend well. If you choose to play a defensive style then you should be practicing these strokes all the time. If you play an attacking stroke then you should still try and find some time for these strokes. If you can win one extra point by defending well when pressured, it could make the difference between winning and losing.
