I am having a difficult time understanding the finishing position for the backhand against top spin. I am aware that there are various techniques, but was informed that finishing with your arm high is not good. Comparing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3inKrRCDiCY             with pingskills video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qgqir2OPazo  you will see quite different finishing positions...one much higher than the other. I was just curious as to your thoughts on this....

Thanks,

Bryce

Hi Bryce,

There are different techniques.  The technique that we have shown is a safe backhand contact that will be more consistent.

The other technique is effective when you have advanced your game and have really good control.  You need good timing and touch to be able to execute this technique effectively because the ball is seeing much less of your bat during the stroke.
