Backhand hit using long pimples

Hi guys 

Thanks for all your advise and help I play with long pimples on my backhand I like to stay close to the table and look to attack with both forehand and backhand do you have any advise on being more consistent with long pimples i find the hit off long pimples is a terrific shot just needs to be more consistent

Hi John,

This shot is easiest off a backspin ball as the backspin converts to topspin off the pimples and therefore makes the stroke easier to control.  You can do it off a topspin ball but because it then goes back with backspin you need more accuracy.

If you intend to HIT with LONG pips,maybe you should be careful about WHAT longpips do you use.
Some pips are very good for hitting,others are terrible.
Also,if you are a hitter,why in the first place are you using longpips at all?
May I ask about your exact rubber?
