Backhand Topspin

I've watched "Table Tennis Backhand Topspin Against Backspin" & "Table Tennis Backhand Topspin" very often now, cause I'm pretty bad at BH topspin at the moment. I just dont get enough power and I really wonder why..  It only works if my opponent is doing enough topspin. If yes, I can easlily counterattack, because I can use the balls speed.

But if I start backhand topspin it always seems like the ball doesn't have enough speed/spin.

What I wonder about is: If YOU do you backhand topspin, you're turning around the bat while lifting up. I learned it like: just lift up and push straight, hard to explain. But you are turning around your bat and I'm trying to think of some reason for this. Does the ball get more speed/faster? Or is it just a habit?

I'm looking forward to receive some nice answer.

Hi Kalle,

When Jeff does the backhand topspin, he uses a little wrist as well to generate more speed.

Think about moving your wrsit back on the backswing and then lettingit flow through on the stroke.  Just let the weight of the bat bring the wrist through.

For more speed, the contact the ball a little flatter as well.  If the contact is too thin you will not get much speed.

Hi hope this helps you.
