Good players always make things look simple.
One of the keys is that you try to keep the stroke as simple as possible. Keep the stroke in a straight line to start with. This will eliminate errors. Also make sure you are putting spin on the ball by getting a good brushing contact on the ball. This will help you to lift the ball when it is lower and it will also allow you to hit the ball harder because the topspin will bring the ball down when it is traveling fast.
Keep practicing the stroke. It will get better with time and focused practice.
