Backing off a little bit from the table

Hi Alois,

After serving or receiving do we need to back off a little bit from the table or stand close to it. What is your suggestion?

Hi Parth,

After you serve you should get into a position where you like to play from.  In general this is about a distance where you can just touch the table with your bat.

Some players feel more comfortable a little further away or a little closer.  Just find the position that you like to play from and suits your game.

Usually players that play with big topspins will be a little further away whereas fast flat attackers like to stay a little closer.
