Backspin back over the net

Rules

I watched a match in which a player hit the ball with backspin that the receiver did not touch but then spun back over the net after hitting the receiver's side of the table one time. Who gets the point?

Thanks,

JT

Hi JT,

That would be the players point who hit the ball with backspin.  The opponent has to touch the ball before it goes back over the net for the point to continue.

Doubles Serving Rules

In this video we go over the somewhat complicated rules of serving for doubles in table tennis. There are a couple of extra rules for doubles that you don't apply to singles. In doubles you always serve from the right hand box diagonally to your opponent's right hand box. Each player has 2 serves each. If you've just been receiving then it's your turn to serve next.
