Backspin Serve

Hi,

The key to generating backspin is brushing the ball in a downwards motion.  Think about brushing the ball at the base of the ball.  This will cause the ball to spin backwards.

One idea presented there is to move away from the table and hit the ball and try to make it come back towards you.  This will allow you to hit the ball freely.  Swing through and try to brush the base of the ball.  Once you get the feel of getting the backspin you can try it standing up to the table.
