We, couple of friends started playing sometime ago. We play for 2 hour daily for a year about now.But before 5/6 month  I started learning basic techniques like form, push, drives, loops. Now i am trying to play attacking game in practice match but most of the time I lose to the people with no form and less foot movement. Sometimes I win very easily to them and feel like that was easy.  I have also tried this, I experimented once and I won most of the matches with I play with push push and open very rare. So please can you tell me how I will improve my attacking game and for a beginner how much attacking I should play and at what time I should open a rally.

Hi Sachin,

This can be frustrating.  However, persevere with your attacking style.  You will find that eventually it will be the better way to play.  You will lose more games now but if you can cope with that, then keep working on your attacking.

Hi Sachin

It has happened to me as well: losing to players who hardly move and play only pushes. How does this happen? It can only happen through our making mistakes. So, the key to not losing against defensive players is to make less mistakes.

How? By perfecting our technique and by controlling our emotions during a match. If you make many mistakes when attacking, then probably you are trying too hard.

Postpone the attack for another stroke and inject a push or two until you get a fine ball to attack. The defensive player will not take advantage of your soft shot. When attacking, focus on placement, rather than spin and speed. The poorly moving defender will have a harder time with well placed shots than with redirecting speedy or spinny balls.

Good luck
