Hi,

I want to see my child as table tennis player, to participate with state, national and international level competitions.

Would like to know at what age onwards training/coaching to be preferred my child?

Waiting for you reply.. on this.

Hi,

They can start to play the game at any age from 5 onwards.  As far as training is concerned, first let them enjoy the game and develop a passion for it.  If they don't then no matter how much training is prescribed, they will not reach their potential.

Usually at 10 to 12 players can start thinking about more regular training.  By 14 to 15 if they are still enjoying the game then they will start to train more days per week.

#42 - Study Your Opponent

This is the second training plan focusing on match strategy. Last week we looked at your strengths and building a game around that. This week you should examine one of your competitors and pick out their weaknesses. Then you can design some training drills to expose those weaknesses. By doing this you'll be able to exploit them in a match situation and win points more easily.
