Strokes
Hi, people often tell me that my penhold grip isn't good for tall players like me. So i have watched few matches between tall players(esp. European players) and most of them are using shakehold. Should i change my grip, and if so, how can shakehold grip benefit tall players?
Hi Jimmy,
Say with the penhold player if you feel comfortable with it. I remember playing a player Zoran Kalinic who was a very tall penhold player that played in a World Team championships final. He was very good so you can reach a high level with that style.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
