Hi,

I just started taking table tennis seriously, but it is still just a hobby.  I am a pretty good recreational player, with good control.  My biggest weakness is lack of attack skills and a deadly serve.  I would like to hear your thoughts on the best way for me to practice these techniques to improve my skills.  I have a foldable Kettler table which I frequently fold up one side of to practice, but I really don't have anyone to help me practice my technique.  I've looked into buying a cheap robot, but I'm on a budget.  Any suggestions???

Hi Jacob,

Serves are something you can practice anytime.  You can also practice against the table to a certain extent.

Work on getting as much spin as you can on your serves.  This can even be done off the table.  Then you can start to get some control on the serve and place it where you want it.

Robots can be useful in your situation but as you say they are not cheap.

Take a look at our Serving Secrets Revealed DVD. I am sure this will help you out.
