Hello!

Tell me please how I can blocking attack of my offense opponents, when they are using very spinning topspin with sidespin(offensive attack)? With the simple blocking i can't do that...

Hi Yuriy,

You are talking about a very difficult technique here.  The main thing is to allow for the sidespin with the angle of your bat. If the ball wants to spin to the left then you need to angle the bat away from there.  You also need to keep your hand relaxed to absorb some of the spin.

The best suggestion is to try to stop them from making that stroke easily.

The Controller

Most drills involve one person performing the exercise and the other placing the ball as required by the exercise. We call this person placing the ball the controller. When you are acting as the controller it is a great opportunity to practice your blocking and concentration. As blocking is an important part of the game you should be 100% focused at this time. You also owe it to your training partner to be blocking effectively so they get the most from their exercise.
