hey alois,

So I have a robot at home but i dont use it very often. I was wondering if you could recommend any drills for me to do on it?

I play about 5 times a week at various clubs and represent my county.

Many thanks, joe

Hi Joe,

If you have a newer robot you can program it to do a lot of drills.

I think one of the most useful things about a robot is to train hitting against backspin because this is something that is more difficult to practice with a partner.

The other use is to set it up to do some footwork drills.  It doesn't matter too much which drill but you need to find something that is useful for you in your game.

If you can get yourself a copy of Training Secrets Revealed it will give you lots and lots of drill ideas from basic footwork drills right through to game type drills.

#15 - Using Depth

In this session we talk about the length of your placement. Often we think that we need to always hit the ball deeper and faster however sometimes playing a shorter ball during a rally can catch your opponent off guard. If this happens to you, you need to ensure you are able to move forward and deal with the shorter ball.
