Equipment
Hello,
First of all I would like to introduce myself. I am Christof and I am 19 years old. My country is Belgium.
My question is about the difference between Calibra Lt sound and the new tour rubbers.
I would like to use one of these. For the moment I play with the calibra sound 2.0 on a Butterfly Balsa carbo racket, both on forehand and backhand. Especially in the backhand I want more control and spin while doing my topspin, in the forehand I need more speed.
Maybe I just need to use a thinner BH rubber, but I would like to know what the tour rubbers would be like? Are they faster, spinnier or more controllable comparing to the calibra sound? And what would you recommend me? I like to play from a certain distance from the table using topspin in both backhand and forehand, however I have the feeling my backhand topspin isn't reaching far enough...
Thanks Christof
Hi Christof,
It looks like they have made these faster with more spin but I haven't even seen one of these sheets so it is hard for me to comment. I hope one of our readers has used them or knows more about the rubbers for you.
It will give you the extra speed to reach a further distance on the backhand but not sure about the control since it is faster. The extra speed may be what you are looking for on the forehand.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
