Hi Alois, for the holidays I wanted to get a new racket and I'm strongly inclined towards a Donic Waldner 1000 racket which has a carbon base. I just wanted to know the difference between wood and carbon handles because all my rackets so far had wood handles. I heard that it was much lighter then wood. Also, what do you think about the racket?

Hi Mike,

The main thing with the carbon rackets is that they are lighter and perhaps faster.

I think you need to haver a hit with a similar racket before outlaying the money.  It is the only way to really tell whether you like it.

Any other readers can help out here with the Donic Waldner 1000.

I have the Carbon Blade Yasaka Soft Carbon and i really like that blade! My rubber is Butterfly Bryce Speed FX. It is very fast and very light that is a good weapon in the fast game when i need to have a very fast tennis playing!

I would recommend against using Donic 1000 blade. The Donic ready made rackets are very expensive and not in quality. They have speed, but hardly any spin. Better to go for customized rackets.
