Varnishing blade

Hi Alois, i know it is advised to varnish your blade before applying any rubbers onto the blade first time round, but will i need to varnish the surfaces of the blade everytime, before i change the rubber sheets with the blade?

Hi Jon,

You shouldn't have to varnish it each time.  just be careful when taking rubber off the blade.  Especially if you are using the new water based glues as they tend to stick very hard.
