Hi Coaches, since my coach told me that my bat's rubber is slow, I'm now considering to change my rubber, so I want to ask, how will changing my rubber to a new one will affect my playing and how to differs good rubber and the one that is not?

Hi Ivandri,

A faster rubber will make the ball travel faster and it will also make it a little easier to play your strokes without effort.

One disadvantage is that you will find it harder to control the ball so don't get anything too fast.

If you stay with a well known quality rubber you will be OK.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

Thanks for the explanation, so will faster rubber produce more spin?

Not necessarily.  It may lead to less spin if it is really fast.
