Hello Alois,
When do you know the rubber is over used or it should be changed (without knowing how long it's been used)?
Also, how will you know if your bat (without rubber) should be changed ? Do I ever need to change it ?
Thanks,
Chinjang
Hi Chinjang,
To check on the rubber one simple thing is to rub your finger across the surface and see if it is slippery. If it is, then it is definitely time to change.
Depending on the type of rubber, you can look at the surface. If the pimples are starting to show through the surface then it is getting worn.
As for blades they do get a little softer in time but they should really last many years at least 5 and probably more.
The thickness of a table tennis table is the most important aspect of a table to ensure you get a true consistent bounce. Other things to consider are the net, portability, and storage space.
