Hello,

My name is Ivan and I'm from Bulgaria . I am thinking of buying a new table tennis bat , so here i need help.

I want to ask if there is a difference in Chinese rubbers and European rubbers and more precisely - Can I play European table tennis style with Chinese rubbers such as DHS,Galaxy and so on ?

Thank you in advance,

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

There is a little difference in their feel however, you will still be able to do all of the strokes with either types of rubber.

You can play European style with Chinese rubbers and vice versa.

The thickness of a table tennis table is the most important aspect of a table to ensure you get a true consistent bounce. Other things to consider are the net, portability, and storage space.

Hi Ivan

As advised by Alois Yes you can play European style with chinese rubbers and vice-versa

I was in the same situation as you , when u say chinese rubbers do u mean the tacky ones or the non-tacky ones?

With the tacky chinese rubbers like DHS H3 you have to swing ur arms a lot more , if looping is ur game u will love it

I switched to Galaxy Moon from H3 coz Moon is a non-tacky faster rubber, more of a european feel and easy to control

I may be wrong but from my experience if u wanna play European style with chinese rubber then ur better off goin with non-tacky ones like GALAXY- Moon, Sun  much better feel of the ball

Cheers

I would prefer a European rubbet because 6 months earlier I bought 2 rubber DHS Hurricane 3 Neo National Blue Sponge and Super 999t. Both the rubbers are very tacky at first the rubbers fells very spinny and controlled but after some time when their tackiness lose the spin was reduced they have only a tacky topsheet to produce spin, their sponge is so hard it did not have much dwell time SL if tackiness loses it is hard to produce good amount of spin. After 6 months I switched to Andro Rasant Beat and its soft sponge produces so much spin which is unbelievable and as it did not have tacky topsheet and sponge is already very soft and has good dwell time its spin will not reduces for a good time
