How do you BH chop using LP from close to the table when the attacker hits a low-arch, fast topspin. I know blocking with a top-spin style block works if the ball is high enough off the table. But if the ball dips below the table, would you use a quick wristy chop that takes the pace out of the ball or a longer slower chop using the arm.

Hi Alan,
If th eball has dropped below the level of the table, I think you need to just control the ball back as low and as deep as possible. This can be awkward from that position, but use a long stroke to get more control. This is a difficult ball and using a wristy stroke would be too risky.
Your chop doesn't have to be fats but really concentrate on keeping it low and deep to get you back into the point.
