Hi coach,

I play for quite a long time table tennis, but I never learned the strokes with a coach, so I want to learn and practice the correct technique. In order to do that, I would like you to guide me to "configure" a good bat for this.

I saw your video "Choosing a Table Tennis Bat" and I noticed you mentioned that in order to develop correct strokes it's a good choice to start with "Yasaka Mark V" rubbers.

I already have a blade "Donic Epox Control" (with specifications http://www.tabletennisdb.com/blade/donic-epox-control.html) and I want to pair it with some rubbers. I would like your opinion on this. This blade pairs well together with rubbers "Yasaka Mark V" (with 2.0 mm sponge) for both sides (FH and BH)?

Do you think this combination will help me learn the strokes easier?

Is it too fast or too slow? Do I need just a 1.8 mm sponge?

If the above-mentioned rubbers are not suited for my blade, what rubbers would you recommend to me?

Thanks for answer.

Adrian.

Hi Adrian,

I think that Mark V would be suitable.  Get it in the 2mm sponge.  This will be a good speed to learn the strokes of the game.
