Mental Preparation
Hi Alois,
I'm 12 years old and I just love playing TT,I've also been selected to represent my school in a competition. But I feel as if I can't concentrate on all the techniques. Sometimes When I'm playing a match, I forget the techniques. i also wanted to know that how should we be when we're playing a match, I mean should we relax or…? please help me. And your website is very useful and interesting.bye
Hi Yusra,
Congratulations on being selected for your school team.
In matches focus on the thing s that will help you to win points like where you are serving or placing the ball and what types of strokes they don’t like.
You can also think about your technique. It is always difficult to focus on this as well. That is why training is so important so that you get the strokes to become automatic. This will come with time. Go out there and try your best and work on doing your best in each game. Relax and enjoy it. The more you stress about the game the worse you will play.
Most drills involve one person performing the exercise and the other placing the ball as required by the exercise. We call this person placing the ball the controller. When you are acting as the controller it is a great opportunity to practice your blocking and concentration. As blocking is an important part of the game you should be 100% focused at this time. You also owe it to your training partner to be blocking effectively so they get the most from their exercise.
