Contact for Hard or Soft Sponge

How should the contact change when using a hard or soft sponge. Is scriver a soft sponge

Hi Thomas,

For a soft rubber you can hit the ball a little thicker because the ball will sink into the sponge.  For the harder rubber, you can brush over the ball a little more as the hard sponge and rubber will grip the ball more.

Sriver does have a soft sponge.

Does a brushing motion mean swinging more upright

I doesn't necessarily mean more upright.  You can brush the top of the ball as well and still make it spin.
