Contact Point

Is there an optimum point to contact the ball, relative to your body?  I find I improve my consistency if I am mindful to wait for the ball to reach me, even if that means letting the ball fall from its highest elevation.

Hi Michael,

I like to describe it this way.  If I threw a ball to you and you caught it with two hands where would that point be.  This is usually a comfortable hitting point for you.  This is the same on both the backhand and the forehand as you turn slightly for the forehand and stay straight on for the backhand.

Try this out and see if it gives you a feel for the contact point.
