Hi Coach

I would like to know which muscles are crucial for forehand topspin? and what should I do for generating power in forehand topspin?

Hi Kürsat,

The shoulder being relaxed is important. Don't use too many movements.  Try to just focus on the start and finish positions of the stroke and your body will operate naturally rather than trying to isolate smaller movements.

Relaxation of the stroke is vital for generating more power.  The harder you try the slower the stroke will be.

Hi Coach

Should we accelerate forearm when hitting forehand topspin? When I'm accelerating forearm its generating a lot spin with low height but it's slow.?

I think Chinese use sequence body-shoulder-forearm-wrist.
The strongest stroke should be provided when all these aspect swing together.
By distracting this order yo ucan cause variation.
I do it a lot as I do not have any power.
Though, for pwoerful topspin the forearm should surely be used in my opinion.

What do you think,Alois?
