Hi Alois,

I am currently playing with a Butterfly pre-made bat as I only play with friends. I am planning to turn to more serious play and would probably be buying a new customized bat with Yasaka Extra Special for the blade and Spin Art for my forehand and Tenergy 64 for my backhand. What would you say about the pros and cons of this bat and its longevity?

Hi Aboo,

This will be a big step up in your equipment.  It may take a little while to get used to but you will be able to do a lot more with that setup.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.

Thanks. Played with it for the first time today. GREAT bat but pretty advanced for my level in the game. Hoping that I'd be able to use it to its full potential.
