Hi Coach!

I just bought a new rubber (Mark V), I want to know what should I cut it with to fix it on my blade? My friend's say that a regular paper cutter would be fine! but I wanted to ask your opinion!

Also, People say that if you put oil on your rubber, it will increase it's grip! is that true? thanks

Hi Abdullah,

I use either scissors or a sharp blade to cut them.  I prefer the blade but a good sharp pair of scissors works well.

As for the oil I am yet to be convinced that putting oil on the rubber works.  I would not try it because it may ruin your rubber as well.

Hey Alois, is putting oil on your rubber considered altering the face of the rubber? I here of a lot of people doing it but I thought you can't alter the rubber for tournments. Is that in the rules or am I wrong?

Hi Collin,

Yes you are right, you are not allowed to alter the rubber so this would also be illegal if playing competitions.
