Hi Alois, Jeff and players...

I have been developing myself as a defensive player and my coach recommended me short pimples for defence. I looked for some information and I discovered that Yuto Muramatsu, Wang Xi and Hou Yingchao between others use short pimps for defence.. Does anyone can give some advice or technique about the chop? Currently I use Tenergy 05 on FH, Joo Se Hyuk blade ST and TSP

Spin Pips Chop ll.

I have Friendship 802 short pips on my BH. I play just like the inverted rubber and make some adjustments of racket angle. You may watch Wu Yang or Fan Ying chinese players who use them to defend

I normally am a LP chopper but I did experiment with SP for a short time.  My impression was that SP is MUCH MUCH easier to push with...closer to an inverted push than a LP push (in that you can brush under the ball without losing control) except even more control than an inverted push because less bounce off the bat.

On the downside, it is a bit harder to chop against a heavy topspin drive compared to using LP.  I found that, with SP, it was more important to chop the ball when it was lower to the ground in order to maintain control.

Thanks Ji-Soo.  Insightful as always.

Thanks all! I did my arrangements in the chop. The only one that had effect was taking the ball lower when they hard drive on me.
