Hi Stanley,

Sure, take a look at the Lessons on the Forehand and Backhand Chops. These will help you to master these strokes.

Take a close look at them and I am sure they will help you to fix this problem.

Tactics Against A Defensive Chopper

A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. So keep the ball short on your serve and try and catch them unprepared. Watch the video to find out more great tactics to use against a defensive chopper.

While that is good advice for a player trying to be defensive I am not sure if Stanley is saying he is lobbing out of necessity and would rather be offensive.  If that was the case I would recommend trying to hit a long (lower) topsin drive and to move in.  Alois, what would you do to move forward and to transition from defense to offense?

Thanks,

Andrew
